Registration of Ugandans in Ethiopia and Djibouti

All Ugandan nationals living abroad who hold Ugandan Passports are advised to register  their presence with the nearest Ugandan embassy. Ugandan Citizens visiting or residing in Ethiopia and Djibouti are encouraged to register with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Uganda in Addis Ababa - at Kirkos, Kifle, Ketema, Kebele 35, H. No. 031 on Bole Road, Africa Avenue.

Please note that each member of a household should be registered separately. This includes minors.

Benefits of registration:

  1. Registration will make your presence and whereabouts known in case it is necessary to contact you in an emergency, whether natural disaster, civil unrest or family emergency.
  2. Through registration, you will be able to receive important information from the Embassy about safety conditions in your destination country, helping you make informed decisions about your travel plans.
  3. Registration will help family and friends in Uganda get in touch with you in case of an emergency
  4. We may regularly update our citizens with up-to-date information from Uganda or the Mission.
  5. It may be necessary to reunite lost and found documents with their true owners.
  6. It is a basis for us to certify your Ugandan citizenship in the event of loss of Identification or Travel Documents in order to provide you with a letter stating as much. This is a requirement by the local Police when filing a lost document case.

N.B: The Mission will only be able to contact you using the information you choose to provide. The MISSION WILL NOT DISCLOSE your personal details to third parties.
